Sirana Gligora Achieves New Heights at the World Cheese Awards!

At this year’s World Cheese Awards 2024/25, hosted in the Portuguese city of Viseu, Sirana Gligora showcased its exceptional craftsmanship, taking home three prestigious medals:

A gold medal for their Kolan cheese aged in wine must,
A silver medal for their extra-aged Pag cheese (Paški sir), and
A bronze medal for their Žigljen cheese aged in the pomace of Viška maraska cherries.

The 2024 competition set new records, with 4,786 cheeses from 47 countries assessed by 240 judges representing 40 nations. Among the judges were top industry experts, including cheese technologists, graders, chefs, buyers, and journalists. Over a rigorous three-stage evaluation process, the cheeses were judged on appearance, aroma, texture, mouthfeel, and flavor, earning points to secure bronze, silver, or gold medals.

This recognition reaffirms Sirana Gligora’s dedication to blending tradition and innovation, cementing their reputation as leaders in the global cheese industry. Congratulations to the team on this remarkable accomplishment!
